Restaurant Review: Reviver (New York City)

New York City is not lacking in gluten free food options. From 100% gluten free Italian to gluten free friendly Ethiopian you can always find something to appease your taste buds in the city, but sometimes you just don’t have the time for a low key slow paced establishment. A brief walk from Penn Station can land you at ReViVer on 8th avenue, a funky little restaurant that can quickly feed you some amazing food when you don’t have much time (but don’t want to skimp on nutrition). Their ‘motto’ is “Culinary art backed by nutritional science”, and each item they serve has been hand crafted to be clean, pure, nutritious, and balanced.

There are no menu’s here, the entire upper half of one wall outlines what you can order and lets you know if that item is Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegan or Vegetarian. Each item also get a ReViVer score, which looks at how nutritious the dish is. Outside of being nutritious the food is from a variety of cultures, and focuses in my opinion on street foods (foods that are easy and quick to make). On our stop here we ordered the Mahi Fish Tacos and the Moroccan Grilled Tofu Bowl. Both items were low in calories but filling, and truly tasted like heaven. Although the prices are higher compared to some other quick stop places to grab food they are well worth it considering that everything you get is organic and highly nutritious. Certainly give ReViVer a try if you are in the area!
