This article discusses an Australian study that assessed Celiac Disease prevalence in 2,500 participants using a genetic test, rather than the typical antibody test commonly used. The study found that the number with the condition might actually be higher than the typically determined 1 out of 133 statistic, with 1 out of every 60 women and 1 out of every 80 men coming up positive for Celiac Disease with the genetic test.
