Small Eats: A Few Sweet and Salty Snacks

Things have been busy lately, so there has been a bunch of small eats, and quick snacks. For me, they are mostly sweet and/or salty. A bit of tortilla chips here, a bag of skittles there. Small snacks should be full of texture and mouth watering texture, and when possible on the healthier side.I wanted to share a few of these healthier small snacks  that stick out specifically in my mind.

KUR Delights:

Kur Organic Superfoods is a small company that makes bite sized small snacks. These tasty babies have no added sugar or sweeteners, and are raw and organic. The product comes in these adorable little boxes, each of which has a scene on the inside, so you can just tell the dedication that this company puts into not only it’s products but it’s packaging. They are small but filling.

I’ve had two. The Coconut Cream and the Brownie flavors. Brownie flavor was too dry for my taste, leading to that odd sensation or overactive saliva glands (which may have been because I hadn’t eaten in hours when I tried them). After this sensation was done though these fully raw goodies tasted exactly like brownies, which definitely surprised me. The Coconut Creme delights were equally as delicious. Normally I hate coconut, but the flavor was well blended and simply tasty!

Popcorn Indiana:

Popcorn Indiana  is a popcorn brand who touts that they have creaed “the insanely delicious, all-natural, hand-crafted magic you’re holding right now”. This description is 100% accurate, at least for the drizzled black and white kettlecorn product that I tried. Perfectly popped, and covered in the right amount of chocolate and white chocolate this was an AMAZING snack!

I will admit I have always been a popcorn fiend, I just can’t get enough of it when I start eating it, but it was worse with this. It was an ideal amount of sweet and salty that made me come back for more until I ate the whole bag. Whoops!

Mixed from the Heartland:

Mixes of the Heartland makes everything from soup mixes, to pancakes, to brownies. There are a ton of products available, and everything has an all natural healthier twist. A healthy brownie? NO WAY! But in reality, YES WAY! I would have never thought to use sweet potato flour at all, let alone in a dessert but this was scrumptious. They resembled blondies in flavor, but with less of an artificial taste. In fact, the flavor was simple but inviting. Unfortunately, this package was small, making a very think brownie in a 9×9 pan, but it was well worth it for a small snack.
