Who’s your Gluten Free Friend?

The word ‘Friend’ can take on many meanings: partner in crime, canine companion, the shoulder you always have to cry on, of the person who makes you smile just by existing. One thing is for sure though, a friend is someone who always has your back.

But who is your gluten free friend? Who has your back, and supports you, in your gluten free journey? This is a big question for many, as the changes taking on a gluten free diet cause to your lifestyle can often times seem alienating and overwhelming, not to mention sometimes left out of social situations. It is important to know who to turn to. So, Is it your pet who you feed gluten free food to? Your best friend who switched their baking to gluten free baking simply because you were a favorite test subject and they wanted you included? Your favorite gluten free brand or product you can always turn to? Your significant other who lets you have an entire gluten free house? The options are limitless!

Currently, Udi’s wants to know just that through their “My GFF” Program, in which they want to hear about YOUR gluten free friend. It’s a great campaign that focuses on the positive of being gluten free, and reminds us all that we are not alone. There are a few ways you could share your story, and even have the chance to win big: Check it out:

1. Simply visit Udi’s Facebook page, where you can share your story and photo of you and your gluten free friend on their wall. They will highlight their favorite stories in their Album titled “Udi’s #GFFs! Do you have a friend in Gluten Free?

 2. Use the Hashtag #GFF to share your story with Udi’s on Twitter

3. Enter their Instagram Contest, where a weekly winner will win a Polaroid camera, and one lucky finalist will win the $5,000 grand prize on October 25th. Simply enter by sharing a photo of your gluten free friend and you with the hastag #My GFF and tagging @Udisglutenfree in your post.

So, who is your Gluten Free Friend and Why? I personally feel lucky in that the majority of my friends and family are incredibly supportive. We even hold monthly potlucks that are almost exclusively gluten free. However, my ultimate Gluten Free Friend has to be my husband who support my every gluten free need by allowing me to run an entirely gluten free house, was all for hosting a completely gluten free wedding, and almost always eats gluten free in support of my needs!
