Potluck Dinner Club: Dessert Time!

April’s potluck was a bit of an indulgence for a bunch of 20 and 30 something adults, but boy was it freaking delicious. For a change in pace we choose a type of food, rather than food from a particular ethnicity for a change, and went with Dessert as our theme. This time, we utilized separate tables, and post it notes, to designate what was gluten free and what was not. But let’s just cut too the desserts themselves, shall we?
At the beginning of the night the gluten free table was already packed, and it got bigger to where it started to fill a second table. From left to right here you have: Monkey Bread, fondue, home whipped whip cream, fruit, and a Birthday cake!

This was my addition to the potluck, Monkey Bread (with a recipe provided by Glutino). It was the hit of the party.
The birthday cake was in celebration of my birthday, which was a few days before hand. One of my friends has been taking a cake decorating class, where she learned great skills (and always loved me enough to make gluten free cake for everyone!
On the additional gluten free table at the beginning of the night we had, from left to right, gluten free oreo cheese cake and gluten free and vegan no bake pecan pie.

Go ahead, just look at this freaking pie and be jealous.

By the end of the night we also added a Chocolate Raspberry Mousse Gluten Free cake to the mix. So rich and so amazing!
And of course you cannot have dessert with out throwing in homemade ice cream!
My plate was heaping with wonderful gluten free desserts throughout the night. This kept me sugared up and hyper, along with everyone else, until we all started to crash pretty quick (apparently we’re too old to JUST eat lots of dessert for dinner). But it was well worth it to try some new things and learn some new recipes.
The only way this potluck could have been better was if I could have eaten these bad boys:
