Local publicity, eating out tip and an upcoming giveaway!

Happy Friday everyone! Midterms are underway in grad school so I apologize about the lull in weekday posts, I promise there is more to come! My last post somehow made quite a stir. Moose is Loose BBQ Soose were thrilled about my mention of their local product and posted part of my comments on their blog. I recommend you follow them if you love BBQ Sauce and live on LI!

On a very special note:  A company I also mentioned in the last post has offered me an exciting GIVEAWAY Opportunity! This is going to be my very first giveaway so keep your eyes peeled for further details! I am so excited for this opportunity with such a great company and hope that you will be as well. Like I said, keep watching for further details and you won’t be disappointed!

What the ‘spinner’ application looks like

I also wanted to share something that I am not sure a lot of people know about. Urbanspoon is a great food locator resource that I use frequently to find restaurants around my current location when traveling or even at home. They have a fun itouch application which allows you to set certain parameters and shake the itouch to find a place to eat (kind of like the wheel of fortune). What I notice recently was that some of the restaurants list gluten free options under their specifications. When Mike looked further he found that they have an entire section dedicated to food establishments that cater to gluten free needs! I just wanted to share this information with you fellow readers. Online it’s under their Special Features- Gluten Free Friendly. On the IPhone, ITouch,IPad etc. you can locate it by clicking on Browse-Features-Gluten Free Friendly. Here is the link for Long Island. Feel free to try it out.

Do you think it’s a reliable source of information? Are they missing any local places or contain any places that aren’t good? Let me know!

  1. Hey Susi. I just took a look at the application on Mike’s iTouch. It looks like they have some major cities in other countries; specifically Canada, the UK and Australia.
