This is a CNN article that is currently very applicable to my life, my weight was going down for the first year of being GF but now it has started to go up and level off at a weight I am not happy with. Although I am not ‘fat’ persay I am just not content. This article suggests the usual (portioning, lean proteins (beans!) and exercise) but makes sure to mention the subtle difficulties of the gluten free diet that can impact your weight, such as added sugars to increase flavor. Very Informative!

Study Looks at non-Celiac Gluten Intolerance
Although the cause hasn’t been found it seems that studies are pointing now to the existence of non-celiac disease gluten intolerance. This recent Australian study found that 68% of IBS Patients who were given gluten containing products after being GF for 6 weeks in a Double-Blind Placebo study (the best of the study layouts where no one knows if they are eating the GF product or not) complained of increased GI Issues after reintroducing gluten. At least for now this shows some progress towards explaining non-celiac gluten intolerance, now to find a cause.
