Schools Offering Better Food Options for Students with Celiac Disease and Other Food Concerns
This article shows a shift in school food sales, to reflect an improvement in awareness on both student and company parts. It is great to hear that more options are being offered not only for Celiacs but also others with food allergens. The best part about this movement for me, is the idea that students and youth are becoming more empowered, by developing an understanding of their conditions and needs earlier. This will surely shift things in the direction of improve food options, and transparency of ingredients!

Tips for Safe and Tasty Travels from Hilary Davidson (Gluten-Free Guidebook)
Several simple tips on food allergen/sensitivity traveling are shared in this article, all of which are great. While some are obvious tips, the one I think is most important is to remember cultural differences. Hilary explains this as going beyond the need to be able to communicate in their language to explain your needs. Instead, remember that ‘vegan’ or ‘gluten free’ may be different in another countries culture, and be able to explain your requests concisely so they are understood. Most obvious? Always be courteous but never take risks if you aren’t sure!

Disabled BC Woman with Celiac and Other Diseases Battles Government for Care
This is a sad story indeed. Often with multiple disabilities we see complications like this arise, where the government wants to take the more expensive route for whatever reason. What is worse, is that advocating for improvements in care in this case seem to be causing a backlash. Pitiful. I wish this family luck, and hope that something can be worked out that will be beneficial for all parties.

Can you Survive Weeks Eating Only TV Advertised Foods?
This intriguing article goes into the life of the author, who spent 4 weeks eating only foods advertised on television. I think this feat makes an excellent statement regarding that impacts that marketing can have on our diets, especially for those with little time and money. Fruits and Veggies are right out, and alcohol, burgers, cereals, and yogurt are in. In the end, the Author gained flab, yet lost weight (muscle mass?), and definitely felt impacts on energy and cognition.
