Product Review: New Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Products

It’s been awhile since I shopped at Trader Joe’s, but this visit came with a few surprises in the form of new gluten free products. Here is a peak at two of them!

Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Joe Joe’s Chocolate and Vanilla Creme Cookies

These little babies are Trader Joe’s rendition of Oreo’s and they pull it off pretty well! The cookie is flavorful and not at all dry as compared to some of the other similar products out there on the market. The only thing that could use improvement is the creme itself, which is a little on the dull side. Otherwise these are a great little treat. I plan to use the next box to make some gluten free Cookies and Creme Ice Cream!

The best part is they are relatively cheaper in comparison to some other gluten free cookies. Also, as you can tell from the packaging it is very obvious that these are a gluten free product. This is a plus because Trader Joe’s often doesn’t have very ‘in your face’ means of labeling the products which are gluten free (a minor fault on their part in my opinion).

Trader Jacques’ Gluten Free Beaurre Meuniere Popcorn

Something you may not know about me is that I love popcorn, in any form. The typical Movie Theatre popcorn is great, in moderation, but popcorn can be such a healthy snack if spiced and seasoned just right. This french inspired popcorn is seasoned with brown butter sauce, parsley, thyme, and lemon flavoring, which seems like an interesting mix. The popcorn does have an interesting flavor, but it’s light, dimensional and very satisfying in my opinion. It’s a far off relative to the Movie Theatre popcorn here in America, as it is not overpowering with flavor, and is more subtle. It’s also much more healthy for you. The only down side? Contrary to the large gluten free indication on the Joe Joe’s label, this gluten free label is very small and off to one corner. I would have overlooked this if I wasn’t one to stare at an entire package.

I grabbed a few other newer gluten free offerings from Trader Joe’s as well, but I’ll keep you in suspense until I get the chance to taste them!
