Happy Celiac Disease Awareness Month 2016!

I’m late to the game. To be honest I almost always am (or close at least), but this time I have a good excuse. I only came back May 1st from my grand Cross Country Amtrak trip. We passed through 10 states, adding 5 more to my growing list of visited ones. I’m at 35, 25 of which I visited AFTER going gluten free! I’ll have plenty to share about this amazing experience (including some gluten free Amtrak travel pointers), but for now let’s get back to the point: Celiac Awareness Month!

This month is quickly gaining momentum. Gluten Away has their May Online Expo (Travel and Celiac Awareness themed) up, DAILY giveaways are being hosted by Celiac and the Beast, and just tonight I participated in the #MayWeChat twitter party with Beyond Celiac (who has a great set of Awareness Month resources available) and Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE). But what can you expect to see on Celtic Celiac this May?

Well, I’ve committed to sharing one of my posts on social media each day with a focus on celebrating gluten free living as well as discussing the psycho-social impacts food allergies and Celiac Disease can have on our lives. I feel these are particularly under discussed areas that need to be included in the Celiac Disease and Food Allergen awareness discussion. In addition, I’ve partnered with some great companies to offer a variety of giveaways over the coming weeks. Be on the look out on the website, and on social media, for giveaways from Canyon Bakehouse, Free 2 Be Foods, and more. Stay tuned! In the mean time, let me know how you plan to help spread Awareness about Celiac Disease this month!
