Product Review: Glutino’s Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

This month, Glutino sent me a variety of their baking mixes as part of our ongoing partner ship, but I honestly haven’t had much time in the kitchen lately. However, a week or so ago I needed something quick to whip up and bring to a friend’s Master’s degree graduation party. I settled on Glutino’s Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix.

I’ll admit, the cover photo had me concerned as I pulled out the box to start making these; would I be left with thin cookies that break and crumb easily? This type of cookie isn’t always a bad thing, but I was in the mood for something with a bit of body to it, something a bit more pillowy. I put my hesitation aside and got cooking (with an attempt to not eat ALL the raw batter).

Remember those chocolate chip cookies of your childhood? Hot out of the oven with gooey chocolate, crunch outside, and a soft middle? Well, Glutino just about brings us back there with these. Do not be swayed away from these babies by the thin cookies on the packaging! The finished product was near perfection: light, fluffy, crunchy, gooey and sweet. The secret ingredient of honey adds an awesome amount of sweetness to the recipe without making it overbearing. PERFECT for adults! I got about 35 cookies out of the deal, a lot more than what the recipe supposedly made, and highly suggest these for a quick, easy, and delicious snack.
