Kettle Brand Tias: Gluten Free Doritos Alternatives

With the holiday’s coming up I tend to attend a lot of parties complete with large amounts of snacking foods. One of my favorite snacks has always been Doritos, specifically the original Nacho Cheese flavor. Unfortunately, these are not gluten free which has made me very sad as past parties where they have been present. However, Mike recently came across Kettle Brand’s new Product, TIAS! and so far I have had two flavors.

The first was:

Tias’ Nacho Cheddar Chips: These chips were so close to Doritos Nacho Cheese chips that I was floored! I think I may have actually eaten the whole bad in one sitting. The chips had the same texture as Doritos and were covered in just the right amount of cheese powder. You could taste that the product is made with select healthy ingredients, including the cheddar which I believe the bag said was aged. The only downside to these chips for me was that I love the Doritos Chips for their overwhelming flavor and requirement of finger licking afterwards. These chips had a perfect balance of flavor but it was not as overwhelming as the original, there was also not any finger licking required. This just makes them different, and obviously more healthy, than doritos. For me, they are an excellent alternative which I will continue to eat and enjoy! I suggest you try them.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     The second Flavor was:

Tias’ Zesty Ranch: Again aiming to replicate in a healthy form one of the Doritos flavors I would say that these chips are actually better than the original. They were great and a bit more flavorful than the Nacho Cheddar variety. Finger licking was required and delightful. They were seasoned with a powder complete with a variety of spices including green onion, buttermilk, garlic and paprika. For my taste buds this was fantastic and the flavor was always keeping you on your toes. The garlic and paprika pulled through as the strongest flavors at some point but ultimately all of the flavors pulled through to create what I think is a great chip! I highly recommend it.

So, there you have it. Two great gluten free chips that I would highly recommend you try and bring along to parties. Of these two I would say, suprizingly, that the Zesty Ranch is currently at the top of my list. TIAS are also available in several other flavors including Salsa Picante, Toasted Corn, Sweet Baja BBQ and Chili Con Queso. I would absolutely love to try the other flavors or know what others think about these chips!

Have a good day and Happy Snacking!
