Gluten Free News Round-Up: October 13th-19th

And we’re back for more gluten free news, but first check out this pretty humorous parody of “Royals” by Lorde:

Royals candies are a British thing I think, since I’ve never heard of it myself, but it’s still pretty funny! Now, onto the news:
This article discussed a research study that accessed CD Patient’s interest in the experimental pharmaceutical treatments being developed for Celiac Disease via a questionnaire. Overall, the majority of subjects showed an interest but the breakdown of who was interested is most striking. For example participants who were older, male, and ate out often showed an increased interest. To me, this is a very interesting article, but I am also a lover of research!
This article is a brief introduction to how to prepare for being gluten free during your first race. I have never been in a race, but from what I gather carbs and eating in general is very specific so I can understand how it would be different if you were gluten free. In conjunction with this article, there is another about the same topic that discusses the science behind being gluten free as an athlete. All in all, a pair of well rounded articles.
Taking place November 11th-17th, the first Online Gluten Free Summit is now open for Registration. It should be a very informative and interesting event, so check it out if you are interested!
