Is Wheat Breeding Really Driving Higher Rates of Celiac Disease?
This is a topic I’ve already touched on, but I love the way that Celiac.com’s authors cover topics. Specifically in this article not only the research that has been done debunking this idea, but also the research and questions that still need to be answered regarding Celiac Disease diagnosis.

Study Finds that Celiac Disease Rates In The US Increased From 2000 To 2004, But Plateaued Thereafter
Using individuals from Olmsted County, Minnesota, researchers recently found that from 2000-2004 rates of CD increased and then began to plateau from 2004 on. This is an interesting finding which to me could suggest that the ‘skyrocketing’ nature of diagnosis could have been associated with improvements in screening and diagnosis alone rather than the disease increasing. The research is discussed more at length in this article. 

Gluten do People Without Celiac Disease Really need to Avoid it?
This is a comprehensive article that discusses the statistics, pros and cons  of the gluten free movement in those without Celiac Disease. Although an interesting read, what it lacks is the notion that those with food allergens and sensitivities to gluten will also avoid the product. 

Gastrointestinal and Non-gastrointestinal Symptoms Vary in Patients with Celiac Disease
This interesting study takes a look at GI and Non-GI symptoms in patients with CD from varying countries. It is interesting to me to see how symptoms seem to vary based on country, but is this because the symptoms themselves vary or because the perception of symptoms and the way we discuss health varies by country? Read on for further details.
