Butterfly Bakery: Products Made with 100% Love

Recently, I was sent a sample from a company called Butterfly Bakery, whose motto is: Made with 100% Love. Developed from the desire to make sugar free diabetic friendly treats for their mother, the founder of this company has created a great line of many products which are sugar free,  gluten free, or healthier alternatives to other snack foods. There are eight gluten free products, made as the product packaging states in a separate factory.  These include two types of cookies, two types of breads, and 4 varieties of muffins.

I tried the Chocolate Chip Cookies, Here is the description:

Satisfy your cookie craving with these light and chocolaty cookies. Looking for Gluten Free? We got it. Our line is made with the superior artisan whole grain flour-Teff. It is loaded with Potassium and very high in vitamin B. Teff has 14% more protein than normal wheat flour. Best of all Teff is naturally sweet and bakes with a nice rise. The result? Baked goods that are sweet (yet not full of calories) full of fiber, light and moist. Turn your dietary restriction into dietary indulgence. Butterfly Bakery made with 100% love. Package contains 1 pack which contains 13 cookies.

At first I was skeptical of what cookies made with teff flour would taste like. I mean, I love teff when it’s used in Injera (Ethiopian flat bread) but I’ve never tried it in other products. However, the description fully lives up to itself and I was incredibly impressed. The cookies were sweet, filling, and unlike most gluten free cookies they had a bit of body (rise) to them. To be honest, I would have to say that these were probably the closest in flavor to true cookie dough that I’ve gotten since being gluten free. They were simply delicious, and you can’t go wrong with the added source of fiber, potassium and vitamin B in snack form!

I took these with me to a party as a fall back snack for myself, but they ended up being shared with the gluten free and non gluten free folks alike. Everyone wanted more, and could not believe they were gluten free. In fact, the only negative statement was they they were a big too dry, which I can agree with. However, when paired with chocolate and marshmallows to make a Chocolate Chip Cookie S’more Sandwich they were perfect! You can count on the fact that I’ll be trying their products again!

While the products are sold in stores, you need to email the company for a list of locations or you can can buy them online. Check out their website here. These are definitely a product made with 100% love.
